Annobon: Endemic Birds of Annobon
The island of Annobon has two endemic birds that can be found only here and nowhere else on earth. The first is is the tiny Annobón white-eye (Zosterops griseovirescens), easily distinguishable by white circles around their eyes. There were quite a few of them around the caldera lake high in the trees, difficult to photograph, but quite easy to observe. The other bird, Annobón paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone smithii), is quite bigger and more colorful, with red bodies and black heads. Also found around the caldera lake, these guys were on smaller acacia bushes and absolutely not scared.
