Armenia: Armenian Food Recap

Armenian food – basturma (air-dried beef), fresh greens, Armenian wine, kharcho soup (lamb, rice, spices), dolma (stuffed grape leaves), grilled krasnoperka (freshwater river fish), lamb shashlyk, and desert. Good meats and fresh greens followed up with Armenian brandy – what’s not to like! We tried a lot of unique stuff in Armenia, all classic Armenian – Tjvjyk (liver based stew), Khash (super hearty soup from cow hoof), Pickled vegetables of all sorts nd types, Piti soup, Tandyr breads, Beef tongue, Garniyarah (eggplant stuffed with veal), Tolma (lamb in grape leaves, Boraki (open face armenian dumplings), Hashlama (lamb stew with potatoes), Quail, and much more. And of course – the Armenian Cognac!
