Armenia: Colchicum Wildflowers in Snow
Just at the edge of snow on the upper slopes of Mount Aragats at nearly 8-9k feet of elevation there were field and fields of small crocus-like wildflowers, literally breaking through and blooming in the snow. A little research led to finding out that these are most likely not crocuses but Colchicum szovitsii, an endemic flower to the southern Caucasus and northern Iran. Insane panoramas of these pink blooms with a backdrop of snow mountains and distant Mount Ararat. And there were a few other early spring snow-melting wildflowers as well.
