Armenia: Shirak Plane
After crossing the Georgia-Armenia land border in the west of both countries (just miles away from Turkey), you enter the Shirak Plane – a high altitude alpine steppe dominated in the distance by the Aragats show-clad mountains. The elevation of the plane is between 5000-6000 feet, or just below 2000 m – wide-open panoramas, spectacular at sunset.
