Ascension: Ascension Island Museum
The Ascension Island Heritage Society Museum, aka Ascension Island Museum, is a small but interesting museum located in Georgetown, the capital of Ascension Island.The museum showcases the history, culture, and natural heritage of the remote island, offering visitors insights into the island’s unique ecosystem, volcanic geology, military history, and human settlement. The exhibits cover past and present, including the island’s role as a strategic military outpost and the diverse marine and terrestrial wildlife. It’s a bit of everything in this museum but many ex honors and artifacts are super interesting. Even a collection of unique Ascension island stamps!
