Ascension: Comfortless Cove
Another beautiful natural spot on Ascension if the Comfortless Cove. This picturesque cove is known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and volcanic cliffs surrounding it, as well as beautiful yellow sand beaches. You can see the vibrant underwater world and fish even standing on shore. Landscapes beyond the beach include many volcanic cones and lava flows. There is also the Bonetta Cemetery here – a ship HMS Bonetta passing through Ascension had to drop nearly 50 people here with high fever, who remained in isolation at the cove h til recovery or death.
