Ascension: Georgetown
Georgetown is the capital of Ascension, but it’s a rather small settlement near the island’s only pier. The few attraction include a pretty Anglican church – St Mary’s Church, historic museum and remains of two forts a Fort Cockburn and Fort Thornton, Exiles Club, post office with super unique Ascension stamps, and last but not least the local bar. The pier is also interesting with a few stone historic buildings and great view toward the see and the sunset.
