Australia: Apollo Bay – Galah Cockatoos
Apollo Bay is a pretty beachfront town and the gateway to the Great Ocean road and the stunning Twelve Apostles. But harbor and landscapes aside we got hooked on the galahs aka pink and grey cockatoo or rose-breasted cockatoos. These are some of the most emblematic Australian birds and found all over the country. Galahs are medium-sized parrots with distinctive pink and grey plumage, they have pale grey bodies, pink chests, and face patches, with bright pink skin around their eyes. Galahs are social birds and often gather in large flocks, they are very playful and loud and you can watch them socialize, play, and scream at each other for hours.
