Australia: Great Barrier Reef From Air
Great Barrier Reef stretches for 2300km/1400mi and comprises over 2900 individual reefs (plus 900 islands). While it’s undeniably incredible underwater, it’s equally spectacular from the bird’s eye view. The reef follows the coastline from Cairns up to the northern tip of Australia and as you fly along, you get a non stop panorama of individual reefs strung along like a pearl necklace. Scenic flights outta Cairns go for 500-800 AUD for maximum an hour, but get your regular Qantas tickets to Papua New Guinea and back – and you are in for a longer and higher elevation ride (this is not a lifehack, just an observation, I can’t stand people peddling lifehacks…)
