Australia: Kakadu NP – Nawurlandja Lookout
For the most spectacular panoramic views in Kakadu National Park – one need to hike up to the Nawurlandja Lookout across open rocky terrain and a steep incline. From here a surreal panorama opens up with views of the surrounding landscape, including the Arnhem Land escarpment and the Nourlangie Rock. Once at the top of the viewpoint, you get an endless sea of savanna woodlands to where they meet the sheer cliff face of the escarpment in the distance. The endless view is a fantastic taste of the grand scale of the park. This is particularly stunning at sunset and in the summer you get an added bonus of thunderstorm criss-crossing the terrain.
