Australia: Litchfield NP – Drosera Darwinensis
Another species of carnivorous sundews was at the Litchfield NP – Drosera Darwinensis – a much larger plant than your average sundew. Large rosettes of leaves carry fairly sizable liquid traps on their ends, and the flower stem has a lot of pure white 5-petal flowers. Looking up closely into the leaves, we could see the skeletons of the flies and insects that the plants had eaten. Amazing!
