Austria: Graz – Historic Old Town
Graz is the capital of the southern Austrian province of Styria and is one of the three UNESCO World Heritage cities in the country (Vienna and Salzburg are the other two). The location of the border of Balcans, Ancient Rome, and Germany resulted in the town absorbing many different architectural styles. There are over 1000 historic building in the city center, no two are alike! It’s a beautiful atmospheric old town filled to the rim with historic houses with beautiful painted decoration of them, a dozen churches, wide open squares, a Glockenspiel clock with dancing figurines, and what seems like hundreds and hundreds of open air restaurants on every corner and every beautiful medieval street.
