Austria: Graz – Styrian Armory
Here’s another place that was just mindblowing – Graz Armory (or Landeszeughaus) – the worlds largest collection of medieval weaponry and armor. There are over 32,000 pieces of body armor and weapons, enough to equip an army (from swords to pistols to massive rifles to spears), all in pristine and immaculate condition, and all stored in the same way there were in the 16th century when the armory was created. The region of Styria was the forefront of the battle with the Ottowan empire and massive armies stood ready to fight. The building is basically a 4-story storage with weapons and gear and all the shining armor stored neatly in rows after rows, and hanging from all the walls and ceilings. The helmets and masks are the most impressive as well as the entire metal horse outfits.
