Azerbaijan: Istisu Hot Springs
Further along the Dashtak Gorge lies the mostly ruined little town of Istitsu famous for colorful Istisu Hot Spring. During the Soviet Union days, this was a resort, but it mostly got destroyed and abandoned after the 1993 Armenian occupation. No restoration work is ongoing but the road is being slowly repaired. There are multiple hot springs here with colorful travertine terraces and bubbling hot water, which is supposedly medicinal, although likely to color your teeth yellow. There is a lot of spectacular mountain wildflowers all around and plenty of panoramic views.
