Bahamas/Abacos: Elbow Cay Beach

Elbow Cay Beach running for several kilometers on the east side of the cay is simply stunning – ultra-white sand, green vegetation covered dunes, and and ultramarine sea. Sometimes it looks calm and pristine, other times is beyond rough, like during the hurricane season. At all times – it’s totally idyllic and totally uncrowded. In 2019, this beach took a direct hit from the Category 5 Hurricane Dorian with sustained winds of 185 mph (295 km/h).
