Bahamas/Eleuthera: Surfer’s Beach
Now this is THE beach! Known as the only place in the Bahamas where you can surf, this massive beach is truly spectacular. In fact, it’s often named as the second best surfing beach in the world after the Hawaii north shore. It runs for almost two miles along the eastern side of the Eleuthera island and so it’s completely perpendicularly exposed to the Atlantic waves ferociously pounding it. The beach is wide and the sand is deep, set beneath huge coastal dunes. The waves roll almost in a perfect barrel even on a relatively calm day. And there’s nobody for as far as the eye can see. And the sand is super ultra white and almost sparkling!
