Bangladesh: Baliati Zamindar Bari Palace
The Hatikumrul Navaratna Temple dates to 1704-1728 and is considered one of the largest Navaratna (nine-spired) temples in Bangladesh, famous for its terracotta ornamentation and architectural style (strangely, it is not a UNESCO World Heritage site). The three-story temple thick brick walls are adorned with terracotta plaques with flowers, fruits, leaves, and deities. The main structure includes a central dome, seven entrances to the verandah, and five to the inner rooms. The color and the structure and the overall atmosphere are very impressive! The temple complex includes three additional temples: a Shiva-Parvati temple, a dochala (double-roofed) temple, and another Shiva temple near the pond.
