Bangladesh: New Shalban Vihar Temple

Next to the ancient Shalban Vihara is the newly built New Shalban Vihar Temple. Founded in 1995, New Shalban Vihar is a contemporary Buddhist complex, the largest Buddhist temple in Bangladesh. It’s a classic Buddhist temple, not impressive by Thai standards perhaps but a major attraction in Bangladesh for sure. The temple draws thousands of visitors daily, including Buddhists and Muslims who visit without restrictions.
