Bermuda: Forts & Beaches of St. Georges

The town of St George’s was the first English settlement in Bermuda in 1612. Coincidentally, it was the first English settlement in the New World (Jamestown in Virginia and St John’s in Newfoundland came just a few years later). The historic town is the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Bermuda. St George’s occupies the most northwestern island of the Bermuda archipelago and sit in the waterfront with the King’s Square and the Saint Peter’s church remaining intact in the heart of the town. There are plenty of other historic buildings, all dating to the 17th century. Add in panoramic ocean views and antique-looking restaurants and souvenir shops – and you get yourself into a pleasant several hours of historic exploration.
