Bhutan: Flag Ceremony at Tashicho Dzong
Dzongs are fortress/temple combination that are omnipresent everywhere in Bhutan, many are thousand years old. The Tashicho Dzong is one of the biggest and is the seat of the government of Bhutan. As such, access inside is not allowed but you can witness an elaborate daily flag lowering ceremony – replete with costumes, music, processions, and military. Tashicho Dzong dates back to 1216.
