Bhutan: Trongsa – Yangkhil Resort

Bhutan accommodations are often spectacular – beautiful hotels with stunning views, great food and very good amenities. One such hotel was Yangkhil Resort in Trongsa, with superb views of the massive Trongsa Dzong (fortress), Mangde Chhu River, and even snow-clad Himalayan mountains. Every house and building (and especially hotels) are a thing of art – wood is lavishly decorated and walls are painted with traditional motives and themes. There are lush gardens, fish ponds, a traditional bridge, and a prayer wheel.
