Bolivia: Potosi – Potosi Cathedral
Potosi Cathedral aka Catedral Basílica de Nuestra Señora de La Paz is the main church in town – a huge structure right on the main square. Originally, it was built in 1564, but later collapsed and was rebuilt in 1809. It’s neoclassical on the outside, with an over-the-top rich and lavish baroque-mestizo interior – think gold leaf, famous paintings, elaborate carvings and statues, and so on. You can also get to the rooftop here for stunning panoramic views of the city and the square right underneath the cathedral.
