Bolivia: Uyuni

Uyuni is a small, dusty, windy town at about 3,670 m (12,040 ft) above sea level and is basically just a gateway for Salar de Uyuni and the southern altiplano. There is really just one street of restaurants surrounding a clock tower, and a bunch of bizarre monuments sprinkled around it.
