Bonaire: Salt Pyramids & South Coast
Bonaire is a dry island with very little rainfall and it’s claim to fame (besides the spectacular coral reefs) are the snow-white pyramids of salt that is one of the main exports. Each pyramid, is nearly 50 feet high and contain about 10 thousand tons of pure seasalt. There landscape of salt pans, red evaporation pools, and salt pyramids is truly otherworldly. Further along he coast are some beautiful rugged beaches and a spectacular Willemstoren lighthouse.
