Botswana: CKGR – Game Drives

A full day of game driving in the remote Centeal Kalahari Game Reserve – an adventure exploring very remote area of salt pans: Defeption Pan, Leopard Pan, and Sunday Pan. It’s really not the right time to explore Central Kalahari in the beginning of the wet season – the rains in the previous week were quite strong and the park is full of standing water and the grassland and bushes are all green. The animals spread wide and thin in this time of year as both water and food are super abundant and there is no need to congregate near waterholes. So the wildlife sightings are scant, those we saw giraffes, an elephant, many gemsboks, steinboks, impala, a few jackals, a cape fox, a honey badger, ground squirrels, and some more. The landscapes on the other hand are stunning – with lots of standing water and everything fresh and green and in bloom.
