Bougainville: Nissan Island – Singsing
The Nissan Island is home to the Nissan-speaking people, who are part of the Tolai ethnic group. Truly off the beaten path, the islanders retain their unique costumes, traditions, costumes, and ways of life. We were greeted with a spectacular singsing performance by ladies dressed in pandanus leave dresses, lots of hair decoration and elaborate dance routines. The second part of the singsing was a traditional snake dance perfume by boys with face and body painting, followed Tumbuan dance by men in elaborate head dresses, typical of the Tolai people.
