Brazil: São Paulo – Downtown/Centro
The historic downtown of São Paulo is a mishmash of old historic buildings and some of the tallest skyscrapers in the country, mostly desolate on sundays except for homeless camping here and there. The city was founded here in 1554 near the Patio de Collegio. Other attractions are Praca de Se square, Igreja de Sao Francisco church, spectacular Teatro Municipal, and the tallest buildings in the city – Edificio Banespa and Edificio Italia, both from the 1960s.
