British Outer Islands: Outer Islands Food Recap
All Scottish outer islands – Hebrides, Shetlands, Orkneys – have rather similar cuisines: a lot of too notch high quality seafood and this is most certainly the best place to try what the abundant waters of the North Atlantic have to offer. Lobsters, mussels, scallops, oysters, crabs, langoustines, and tons of fish like Atlantic salmon, haddock, and so on. Fish and chips are absolutely delicious, and I got to try the northernmost fish’n’chips place in the UK. And not to forget – the classic breakfasts – massive plates of deliciousness. Oh and also the haggis (dark pudding containing sheep’s and beef heart, liver and lungs with spices) on Hebrides which is world famous apparently.
