Cabo Verde/Fogo: Driving Around Fogo Island
Fogo is round island with a massive volcano in the middle, in fact the entire island is just one big sloping mountain – anywhere you go – you will be on the steeply sloping ground. A road runs around the circumference of the islands with plenty of attractions along the way – sea vistas, views of the volcano (if not in clouds), tiny fishing villages, twisting roads and u-turns, more cliffs, black sand beaches, ravines and slot canyon. Add some local flora – like wild aloe vera, or rare birds – like predator kestrels or colorful kingfishers, add some cute looking donkeys – and you got a full day of a photographic adventure. Oh and then there was also coffee!
