Cabo Verde/Santo Antao: Ribeira do Paul
Seeing Ribeira do Paul (massive narrow valley) from the top was an incredible experience (see previous post #9). Getting inside of it and seeing the luck greenery from the bottom is equally amazing – it’s supper green, mostly capturing all the cloud moisture that blows in and then runs down the vertical walls of the valley. Everything is planted here – a lot of sugar cane for grogue, but also bananas, mangos, and tons of other fruits and vegetables.
