Cabo Verde/Sao Vicente: Mindelo Harbor
Mindelo Harbour (aka Porti Grande) is actually a natural caldera of an ancient volcano creating a perfect crescent of protected deep waters. This was the place where the Portuguese stopped in 1492 and discovered Cabo Verde (actually it’s neither a cape nor is it green). The harbor also has an exact replica of the tower of Belem in Lisbon. Sweeping views of the surrounded in mountains, several spectacular beaches, colorful fishing boats, yachts and ferries – all coexist in the harbor with stunning sunset behind all of it. Best enjoyed with a caipirinha in your hand!
