Cameroon: Grand Batanga Beach
The absolutely best beach in Cameroon is the famous Grand Batanga Beach. The near perfect strip of golden sand goes on for incredible 7 kilometers with no interruption and very few buildings along the way, except for a couple really simple tiny beach hotels and equally simple beach restaurants offering fresh fish grilled right in front of you. The waves are gentle and the water is equatorially perpetually warm, and you can have all this to yourself. As usual for the Atlantic beaches of Central Africa, oil platform stand on the horizon spewing red flames of burning excess natural gas. Beautiful and desolate and still hardly developed for tourism.
