Canada/AB: Jasper NP – Rocky Mountain Elk
Yet another big mammal at Jasper National Park – Rocky Mountain Elk. Second largest member of the deer family, elks can be found only in North America and Northeast Asia. They don’t live in Europe, and what they call “elk” in Europe – are actually moose. Elk are plentiful in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, coming out in early morning and evening to now grass, often very close to the roads.
