Canada/Alberta: Banff NP – Bow Lake
Bow Lake is yet another spectacular lake along the Icefields Parkway in the Banff National Park. Surrounded by tall peaks with three glaciers in sight, it’s truly stunning! Bow Lake l is primarily fed by Bow Glacier, which is part of the Wapta Icefield. The glacial runoff from the Bow Glacier flows into the lake, giving it its characteristic blue-green color. Bow Lake also connects to the Bow River, which continues through the Canadian Rockies and plays a significant role in feeding other lakes in the region. The area is surrounded by notable peaks like Crowfoot Mountain and Mount Thompson. The historic Num-Ti-Jah Lodge is also situated near the lake’s shore.
