Canada/Alberta: Jasper NP – Waterfalls Along the Icefields Parkway
Icefields Parkway offers viewpoints and access to several absolutely stunning waterfalls some of them are pure scenic beauty, while other are pure raw power. Weeping Wall Falls and Bridal Veil Falls provide elegant cascading displays – the former is around 100 m (330 feet) high and very seasonal, while the latter is around 370 m (1,210 feet) in total drop, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in the area. Next, Tangle Creek Falls is not very big at 35 m (115 feet) high, but very picturesque with multi-tiered drops cascading over colorful cliffs. Finally, Sunwapta and Athabasca Falls demonstrate the force of glacial meltwater with massive amounts of water in huge volumes – Sunwapta is 18.5 m (61 feet) double falls with the average flow of 35 cubic m per second (1,236 cubic feet per second), while Athabasca is one of the most powerful and impressive waterfalls in the Canadian Rockies – 93 cubic m per second (3,280 cubic feet per second) in a stunning panorama display of rushing whitewater, fed by glaciers, pushing through a narrow gorge.
