Canada/Alberta: Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park
his park, right on the US border in southern Alberta is a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are some quite spectacular badlands and sandstone hoodoos here, offering stunning prairie and badlands landscape panoramas. The park is more known however for its petroglyphs and pictographs, with thousands of carvings and paintings dating back over 2,000 years. These rock carvings were created by the Blackfoot Indians and hold deep spiritual and cultural significance. As far as petroglyphs go, these are very basic and rather unspectacular, so you better off sticking to natural attractions here.
