Canada/BC: Yoho NP – Natural Bridge
The Natural Bridge in Yoho National Park is a rock formation that spans the Kicking Horse River. Over time, the powerful river exploited weaknesses in the rock, gradually wearing away softer layers beneath the harder surface. This process created a hole beneath the top layer, which eventually formed the bridge. As water continuously flows over and under the formation, it further deepens and widens the gap, slowly eroding the rock. The powerful flow continues to carve the rock up to this day.
