Canada/Labrador: Wildflowers of Labrador
The summer season may be short in Labrador but the tundra manages to explode with spectacular wildflowers of many different colors. As we sailed along the Labrador coast, larger more temperate climate species like irises and dogwood changes to more arctic species like arctic fireweed, Labrador tea, arctic arnica, arctic poppy and so on. Exploring the untouched fjords was a true amateur botanist’s dream (I spent fair amount of time crawling around on four and photographing these tiny earth-clinging flowers).
