Skinner’s Hotdogs is a Manitoba institution, famous for its hotdogs. Founded in 1929 in Lockport, Skinner’s the oldest hotdog stand in Canada, located along the Red River, making it a popular stop. Skinner’s was started by Jim Skinner Sr., who opened a small stand in Lockport. At the height of economic depression Jim offered 10 cent hot dogs, 5 cent fries, and a dance hall environment to consume all these. It became a hit and won lifelong loyalty from Manitobans and beyond. Skinner’s hotdogs are known for their distinct taste and quality, often served with a variety of classic toppings. The restaurant also serves burgers, fries, and ice cream.
