Canada/Manitoba: Winnipeg

Winnipeg is the capital and largest city of Manitoba province. Located at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers, Winnipeg is known as the “Gateway to the West” and is a major transportation and commerce hub., the Transcanadian Highway running straight through it. The historic downtown is small and easy to explore in under an hour – Saint-Boniface Cathedral, University de Saint-Boniface, Esplanade Riel, Canadian Museum of Human Rights. Plus a couple really good restaurant along the river with a fantastic sunset view.
