Canada/Ontario: Sleeping Giant Provincial Park

The Sleeping Giant Provincial Park occupies a large portion of the Sibley Peninsula, a finger of land sticking out into the Lake Ontario north of Thunder Bay. The park is named after it’s main iconic feature, a mesa ridge that resembles a sleeping giant. There are many good trails and also an absolutely stunning Thunder Bay Lookout, where a metal platform extends from a cliff edge and offers a panorama of Lake Ontario. Here you are standing thousands of feet above water and it’s definitely thrilling and literally breathtaking.
