Canada/YT: Kluane National Park from Air
Kluane National Park is one of the most inaccessible parks on the world. The park is massive, covering 22 thousand sq km (8500 sq mi) and almost all of it is high mountains, icefields, and glaciers. Canada’s highest peak – 5,959m Mount Logan is in the heart of the park, and Kluane also is the home for the largest ice field in North America (excluding Greenland). It takes 3-4 days of hiking just to get to a point where you can see the first glaciers, so naturally the only way to see this wilderness is by air. A whopping 2-hour in a single engine Cessna over a totally surreal terrain of spiky snow-covered peaks, rivers of frozen ice looking like multi lane highways, hanging glaciers, and further in – endless snowland. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
