Canada/AB: Jasper NP – Columbia Icefield
Columbia Icefield is the largest icefield in the entire Rocky Mountains and it fees eight glaciers coming down from it. It sits at the hydrographic apex or triple continental divide (rivers originating here flow to three different oceans). Giant glacier buses rumble onto the glacier service. Each bus is a $2 million monster, all wheel drive, descending down the glacier moraine at 32 degrees decline (2nd steepest road in North America) and then driving on ice. Once deep in the glacier, you are surrounded by five other glaciers hanging from the bowls of peaks nearby. One of the most awesome adventures in the Canadian Rockies!
