Canada/BC: Yoho NP – Takakkaw Falls
Takakkaw Falls is one of the most striking waterfalls in Yoho National Park and in the entire Canadian Rockies. It stands at 373 m (1,224 feet) tall, making it the second tallest waterfall in Canada. The name “Takakkaw” means “magnificent” in Cree language. The falls are fed by the Daly Glacier, part of the Waputik Icefield. The falls are at the fullest in late summer as the melting of the icefield is at its fastest. You can get up close and personal to the falls, close enough to get complete soaked, but the pics are worth it.
