Canada/BC: Vancouver Island – Della Falls Trail at Strathcona PP

Della Falls is one of the largest waterfalls in Canada, it actually ranks 16th in the world in terms of vertical drop – 440 m / 1443 ft. Getting here is an adventure on its own – first you need to take a boat to cross the lake and then a 16km trail, a very steep one, leads toward the waterfall. Unfortunately, after about 12km the trail became impassable do to a flood washout and avalanche damage. Nevertheless, it was still awesome hike through a spectacular temperate rainforest.
