Canada/Manitoba: Landscapes of Hudson Bay
Hundson Bay cuts into the northern Canada like a massive scoop and brings icy arctic water to the coasts of Ontario and Manitoba. The cold continental climate preserves this as mostly treeless tundra covered by snow and ice and the ground remains as permafrost. Colorful lichen are the only thing bringing color to this otherwise grey and cold landscape. Hudson Bay freezes in winter allowing polar bears to hunt seals in the open ice.
