Canary Islands: Caldera Blanca Hike in Volcanoes National Park
Wow, this was one of the most spectacular hikes I’ve ever done. And it’s not listed in any guide book and no one knows about it. The massive crater is the result of huge hydromagmatic explosion. You hike across rough lava to the largest crater on the island, then up and up the wall and all around the rim. It’s 700m (2000ft) in diameter with unimaginable views in all directions, and the sunset light was a bonus.
