Canary Islands: Garajonay National Park
La Gomera is a beautiful island and totally different from the rest of the Canarias. In the rain shadow of the neighboring Tenerife and Mount Teide, La Gomera has a unique laurisilva (laurel forest) that’s verdant, green, moist, and shadowy. It’s one of the few remaining in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s beautiful, cool, and very green and refreshing, with many fantastic hiking trails and no tourists whatsoever. (Btw, laurel is aka Bay Leaves)
