Chad: Zakouma NP – Landscapes
Zakouma National Park is a true crown jewel of Chad, its oldest protected area, and a spectacular African wildlife preserved, managed by Adrian Parks. The amount of wildlife and especially birdlife here is staggering. The park lies in a transitional zone from Saharan deserts in the north to jungle rainforests in the south, its landscapes are characterized by flat savannas, woodlands, seasonal floodplains, and rivers – parts are open and dry and other areas are heavily forested, while the flood pans are totally wet and marshy.
