Chad: Zakouma NP – Tinga Camp

Tinga Camp is the main and only place to stay in the vast Zakouma National Park. While it positions itself like a classic african lux safari camp, it’s rather simple and rustic – small bungalows, no air con, no hot water (which you don’t need in 40 degree heat), very basic beds and mosquito netting. The main lodge has a large dining floor and excellent food. The real beautify is that the wildlife is all around you – the camp sits in the river bank and tons of animals pass by any time of day – including lions (nothing is gated).
